Finally, the weather’s getting warmer! If you’re headed to that sidewalk cafe or rooftop bar for a little refreshment, you’ll find more options beside standard sweetened or unsweetened iced tea this year. Fifty six percent of chefs ranked specialty iced teas (think Southern sweet tea, matcha, Thai-style iced tea and flavored teas) as hot menu items this year. The National Restaurant Association surveyed 1300 professional chefs, members of the American Culinary Federation. House-made lemonade and sodas, coconut water and ginger beer also made the list of trendy sips.
