Yum! Girl-Scout Goodness Without The Guilt

It’s that time of year! Girls clad in green, their smiling faces at your doorstep or outside the supermarket as impossible to resist as the packages they’re peddling. Thankfully, Bigelow has just introduced limited edition teas inspired by the Girl Scouts’ popular Thin Mints and Caramel & Coconut cookies. Back in the day when my mom was a troop leader and I wore the beret and sash, these cookie varieties were my top sellers. They are still my favorites. Are they yours? The company struck a licensing deal with Girl Scouts of the USA in honor of Bigelow’s 70th anniversary this year. “Once a Girl Scout, always a Girl Scout,” says Cindi Bigelow, a fellow former Scout and the tea maker’s CEO. “These tea flavors, in addition to being a part of the Bigelow quality tradition, will extend the enjoyment of Girl Scout cookies into a new category, with an inspired beverage that warms body and soul, and brings a smile to your face.”

More deets on her delicious offerings, which are, thank heaven, CALORIE FREE!

Girl Scouts Thin Mints Herbal Tea: “This caffeine free tea delivers the perfectly balanced mint and chocolate flavor of the Girl Scouts’ famous Thin Mints cookies. The flavor profile is as rich and refreshing as the chocolaty mint cookies that have become an all-time American favorite. This herbal formula is deliciously relaxing.”

Girl Scouts Caramel & Coconut Black Tea: “This superb black tea blend offers a delectable taste combination of luscious caramel and coconut. Like the Girl Scout Cookie that inspired it, this tea is a delightfully satisfying treat — a little reward to enjoy during a busy day. Its black tea content offers a dash of energy.”

Both teabag varieties are sold in boxes of 20. The teas are gluten-free, sugar-free and Kosher-certified. You can pick yours up at the supermarket, like I did, or on Amazon. A final note, to my longtime girlfriend Sandy, and her daughter Marie, who is a Daisy Scout. My usual cookie order stands, ladies. But I’m dieting so, um, they’re really for my kids. Thanks girls!
